FAQs

Dive into our detailed FAQ section where you'll find answers to a wide range of questions, addressing everything from basic inqueries to more complex issues.

What types of content can be translated into ASL?

Pretty much anything. Marketing videos, books, flyers, training materials, podcasts, full length movies, social media content, you name it!

How does the ASL translation process work?

On your end, it's as simple as uploading your content and placing your order! If you are curious what's happening on our end, you can find a breakdown of how Cirrus handles translations in our Translation Standards here.

What file formats can be uploaded?
  • Video files (.mp4, .mov)
  • Audio files (.mp3, .wav)
  • PDFs (If you have files in other formats, like PowerPoint, Word, Etc., please convert them into PDF before uploading.)
What file formats do you deliver?

Video: MP4 files (1080p) in six layout templates.

Documents: Two MP4 files (1080P) and a shareable interactive web-document viewer.

What is the turnaround time for ASL translation projects?

Most projects can be delivered within 3–5 business days; however, turnaround time depends on several factors—such as length, complexity, and our current studio queue. If you have a hard deadline, please add that note to your order.

Will the translation I receive be accurate and culturally appropriate?

Absolutely. Cirrus is guided by rigorous Sign-Language Translation Standards to ensure linguistic accuracy and cultural authenticity. Read the full standards.

How do revisions work?

If something in the deliverables doesn't clearly meet the agreed specifications, let us know—we'll review it and may rework the file or issue a credit, depending on the situation. Requests beyond the original scope may require a new quote.

Can you handle rush jobs?

If the studio calendar allows, sure. When submitting your project, add a note with your deadline and we'll do our best. We may need to add a rush charge, but we will get your approval first.

Do you use AI in the translation process?

Yes—for the parts machines are good at. AI handles routine tasks like project intake, analysis, quoting, and prepping materials so our translators have everything they need. But the thinking and signing? That's always done by real people—skilled professionals who ensure every translation is accurate, clear, and natural.

Can you work with specific industry terminology or technical language?

Yes we can. We build a project glossary, tap computer-assisted tools, and loop in subject-matter experts when needed to lock down specialized signs.
